Get tickled by this torrontés

Santa Ana Reserve Torrontés (2006)
Origin: Argentina (Mendoza)
Price: $8

Simply put, I can't seem to get enough of this wine. Being a torrontés newbie, I bought this completely on a whim. But, wow, was I surprised! One sip and I was enchanted by its jasmine and green apple deliciousness. It also had the citrus and nectarine flavors that you might find in a New Zealand sauvignon blanc, but with a bit of jalapeno on the finish. When well chilled, its floral aromas and citrus dominated, yet as it warmed up slightly, the spiciness became more noticeable creating quite a nice balance.

After opening my first bottle of this wine, I practically sprinted back to the store to buy four more bottles, seeing as it was a Chairman's Selection and would most likely be out of stock for good. It has, in fact, been confirmed that you can no longer buy this wine in Pennsylvania and I checked in Delaware this past weekend, with no luck there either. Let's hope it will resurface sometime in the near future.
